Here is the traditional story of Chhajju Bhagwat, told in simple devotional style:
🌼 The Story of Chhajju Bhagwat
Chhajju Bhagwat was a very poor but deeply devoted bhakt of Lord Krishna. He lived a simple life and had very little wealth, but his heart was full of love for Krishna.
Every day, he would offer whatever little food he had to Krishna before eating. Sometimes it was just dry roti, sometimes a little salt — but he offered it with complete faith, believing that Krishna truly accepted it.
🙏 His Innocent Faith
People in his village often laughed at him.
They would say, “Does Krishna really come and eat your food?”
Chhajju would smile and reply,
“If I offer with true love, why would my Thakurji not accept it?”
His devotion was childlike and pure. He did not perform grand rituals. He simply remembered Krishna’s name with love.
🌟 The Divine Test
One day, some villagers decided to test him. They told him:
“If Krishna truly eats your food, ask Him to come tomorrow and eat in front of us.”
Chhajju agreed without doubt. The next day, he prepared food with trembling hands and prayed sincerely:
“Prabhu, today my honour is in Your hands. If You do not come, people will lose faith in You.”
He cried with deep love and called out to Krishna.
💙 Krishna’s Grace
Moved by his pure devotion, Lord Krishna is said to have appeared and accepted his offering. In some versions of the story, Krishna came in a divine form; in others, He came disguised as a simple boy and ate the food.
The villagers were shocked and ashamed. They realized that true devotion does not depend on wealth, knowledge, or status — only on pure love.
From that day, everyone respected Chhajju Bhagwat and understood the power of sincere bhakti.
🌺 Moral of the Story
