 Hildegard of Bingen described bright, symbolic visions she said came from God. The main ones:

1. Living Light — She saw a blinding, living light (not with physical eyes) that filled her mind with understanding about God, humanity, and the universe.
2. Cosmic Egg / Universe Vision — She described the world as a huge, glowing egg with layers of fire, air, and water — showing creation held together by divine power.
3. The Human as Microcosm — She saw a human figure inside a cosmic structure, meaning humans reflect the entire universe.
4. Church as a Woman — She envisioned the Church as a radiant woman dressed in light, symbolizing spiritual purity and divine wisdom.
5. Battle of Virtues vs. Vices — She saw virtues (like humility, charity) as shining figures fighting dark vices inside the human soul.

She recorded many of these in her book Scivias, describing them with vivid images and explanations.
