Petitioning for Spiritual Virtues: Instead of material goods, if an individual petitions the deeper self at all, it is strictly for higher spiritual qualities: more wisdom, more strength, and more love.
Trusting the Inner Divinity: By possessing these core virtues, a person can safely trust the "divinity within" to automatically and unfailingly meet their true needs at the exact right time.
The "Line of Retreat": True security in life comes from creating and maintaining an open line of communication or retreat into the "Overself." The author metaphorically describes this grounded yet transcendent way of living as walking the earth safely by "taking ticket for the stars now and then."
