Survival of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is highest in patients with an initial shockable rhythm.1,2 However, with each defibrillation attempt, survival rate decreases.3 Specifically, patients requiring three or more shocks have significantly lower survival than those with less than three shocks.3
