References to reincarnation were originally present in both the Old and New Testaments.
In A.D. 325, Emperor Constantine the Great and his mother Helena ordered the deletion of these references from the New Testament.
The Second Council of Constantinople in A.D. 553 confirmed this removal.
The council also officially declared the concept of reincarnation a heresy.
