Our family cat has been missing for 24 hours and I would like to chant for myself and recite for her goodwill.
Is there something animal specific? Or perhaps for safety ?
IMO You can't go wrong with the Great Compassion mantra and/or the Heart Sutra. They both connect to the compassionate and wise energy of Avalokiteshvara. In Japan the Horse-headed Kannon (Hayagriva) is regarded as the saviour of sentient beings in the animal realm.
This is their mantra as read in Japanese.
