People who eat more foods that contain the antioxidant flavanol have a lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s, new research finds.
Flavanols, which are a type of flavonoid, are found in nearly all fruits and vegetables, as well as in tea.
Foods that contained the highest levels of flavonols in the study were:
- pears,
- olive oil,
- wine,
- tomato sauce,
- kale,
- beans,
- tea,
- spinach,
- broccoli,
- apples,
- and oranges
