Two glasses of this doubled weight loss in comparison to those who only drank around half a glass.
Drinking a glass or two of fat-free milk each day can increase weight loss by 100 percent, studies find.
The likely reason is that milk contains both calcium and vitamin D, which are both associated with weight loss.
Half of obese people are deficient in calcium and around half of the general population are deficient in vitamin D.
Increasing calcium levels may reduce the desire for food, whereas a deficiency prompts the body to eat more food to obtain the essential mineral.
Vitamin D, meanwhile, helps the body to absorb calcium.
