That line comes from Jesus Christ in the Gospel of John (John 6:12):
“Gather the fragments that remain, so that nothing may be lost.”
It appears right after the feeding of the 5,000. The disciples collect the leftover pieces of bread and fish—twelve baskets’ worth.
People usually read this on a few levels:
- Practical: Don’t waste what’s been given, even after abundance.
- Spiritual: What seems small or leftover still has value—nothing is insignificant.
- Symbolic: The “fragments” can represent people, moments, or truths that shouldn’t be discarded or forgotten.
If you’re quoting it for a reason, I’m curious—are you thinking about it in a religious sense, or more metaphorically?
