B. Awakening

the Buddha awoke under the Bodhi tree, what exactly is he "awoken" to ? I do not understand how one just gets awoken under a tree and this forms the foundation of Buddhism. Can anyone explain this? What did Buddha awaken to?

Dear One, Schatz, he attained Nirvana.

Nirvana means extinguishment. It’s like pouring a bucket of water on a camp fire. Yup, that fire is out.

If you want to end suffering, disabuse yourself of the one who suffers.

This “life” is none of your business, so get lost.

Realize there’s no “you” in there, experiencing “your life.”

When the experiencer goes, experience is gone, too.

I’m not saying everything disappears. There might still be tables and chairs, but it’s nothing to you. It’s none of your business.

We want to keep our “life” and maybe smooth it out a little. But “life” is just a fire of fear, so put it out.

Abide in perfect peace, and you will see.

Until you abide in perfect peace, there is no seeing.
