My daughter has Down’s Syndrome. When she was 14 she developed leukemia. Unfortunately, in addition she developed sepsis and her organs started shutting down. She had to be put on a ventilator and medication to keep her blood pressure up. The staff warned us that we could lose her at any time. After about a week they successfully treated the infection and her organs started to work again. When they removed the ventilator she excitedly told us that she saw “Grampy Bob” my father who had died 8 years earlier. She said that her grandfather told her she had to “wake up” so she did. My daughter also told my wife that she is lucky the reason she decided to come back is because she lovers my wife so much.
