Glaciers in the tropics

Yes — there are glaciers in tropical regions, mainly found at very high elevations near the Equator. Two well-known examples are:

  1. Quelccaya Ice Cap – Located in the Peruvian Andes, it is the largest tropical ice cap in the world.
  2. Kilimanjaro – The glaciers near the summit of this mountain in Tanzania are among the most famous tropical glaciers.

If you’d like, I can name more examples from Africa, South America, or Southeast Asia.
