The ɹrst is the case of the Indian sadhu Prahlad Jani. He describes a religious experience at age eleven when the Hindu goddess Amba appeared to him and told him that he would no longer have to eat food. He is said to have lived in a cave since the 1970s, and to have not eaten anything for most of his eighty-one years (as of 2012).
