True awakening is awakening to the fact that there is only Peace, no “you” that either feels it or doesn’t. That’s still ego-mind identification. When that false identification, mental judgments and the illusory ‘self’ dissolve in true awakening, all that remains is boundless Peace, in all situations, in isolation, in a crowd, with friends or strangers.

And true awakening is awakening to the fact that there is only The Beloved, everywhere you look. Without the ego-mind identification all that remains is Being loving Itself, loving every aspect of the dream it is creating. Rather than a lack of intimacy, the awakened ‘no one’ feels intimately one with every tree, bird, blade of grass, and even the air caressing ‘it’s’ skin. Taking one step and raising one’s arm is a veritable symphony of Love.

You” may have temporarily peeked through the dream-of-separateness, but because the ego is still reacting to this - negatively or positively - and judging it as a ‘bad development,’ both the ego and the dream are still firmly in place. No true awakening.

These kind of mini-metaphysical sojourns away from your ‘ordinary’ world as it ‘used to feel,’ are no more significant than your neighbor on one side feeling elated from falling into a new love, or your neighbor on the other side returning home from a routine physical check-up where their doctor spotted a deadly cancer, and going into a deep depression. Both the lover’s elation and the sick person’s depression will eventually diminish and pass, and so will your concern about your ‘unrequested state.’

The good news is everything in the dream is impermanent, always changing. In the few minutes it’s taken you to read this far, your dream-body-mind has probably gone through a thousand cellular and emotional changes. Rather than being worried about your place in the dream, be curious and wait. Watch as the evolution unfolds, from that peaceful Awareness that is the only thing always constant and always neutral.

The waking world is projected by the mind exactly as the dream world is in dreams.
We project a world “out there” and simultaneously experience it.
When we don’t perceive the world, it absolutely doesn’t exist.
Our perception of the world is the world’s manifestation, just like in a dream.
This doesn’t mean our body-mind is “enlightened” while the others are “deluded.”
We are everyone and everything in the waking dream.

In the waking state, we’re dreaming, and in deep sleep, we are awake.
The reason we don’t wake up enlightened is we chose again to dream.
(“Waking” to this world of sense-objects is actually entering a dream.)
We continue to harbor a strong desire to dream, so we start up again after a brief intermission.
Gradually, we will come to see that our glory lies where we cease to exist.
The state of pure awareness is infinitely more blissful than the reflected “happiness” we experience in dreams, including the “waking” dream.
