9 TYPES OF BHAKTI

 

Navaratnamalika (garland of nine gems), nine forms of bhakti are listed: 

(1) śravaṇa (listening to ancient texts), 

(2) kīrtana (praying), 

(3) smaraṇa (remembering teachings in ancient texts), 

(4) pāda-sevana (service to the feet), 

(5) archana (worshiping), 

(6) namaskar or vandana (bowing to the divine),

 (7) dāsya

8/ SAKHYA- as friend Nishad Raj Guha c Shri  Ram

9/ Atmanivedana- complete surrender eg Lakshman

Where does the soul stay until rebirth, and how long?

In the most general terms, the soul stays in spiritual reality between incarnations, there is no specific time between death and birth, some souls reincarnate quickly, others can reincarnate once in thousand years…It depends on the soul’s advancement, how did they die in the last life - before their time or peacefully in oldage, if they only reincarnate on Earth - or on different planets, etc. To get more details - Michael Newton’s book ‘Destiny of Souls” is very useful, he describes the architecture of the Afterlife and life planning based on his hypnotherapy sessions, it is not a religious or psychic book.
