TA

Because the J. Krishnamurti character collapsed back into the Only One Enlightened Entity, which is made of Nothing.

Your character probably doesn’t understand that (which is good, it’s not ‘understandable’ by mind,) but it ‘gets’ it.

For the mind desperately attempting to get it at the mental, deductive reasoning level, here’s a few tidbits & sweets, a few mentally-graspable allegories:

Because the J. Krishnamurti character apparently saw through the illusion of separateness.

Because the Ramana Maharshi character saw that There is only the Self and there is no such thing as seeking or getting ‘enlightened’ to It. Who is to ‘get enlightened,’ and how, when all that exists is the Self?”

Because another dream-character with a similar last-name, U.G. Krishnamurti, clarified, “There is no ‘enlightenment.’ Mind can never get to enlightenment. The head that wants to have that ‘enlightenment’ to end its dissatisfaction, unfulfillment, and suffering cannot even be there to enjoy it, celebrate it, or even know it has happened.”

Because by seeking the enlightenment already owned, the Nisargadatta character discovered, “My head, my person was merely the result of a misunderstanding. In reality, there is no such thing. Feelings, thoughts and actions race before the watcher in endless succession, leaving traces in the brain and creating an illusionof continuity. In reality there is no person, only the watcher.”

Oh, and let’s not forget the ancient grand-daddy of Anatta, or no-self that could seek or gain enlightenment, Buddha:

The Gautama character walked into town when Being playing the role of other characters apparently noticed an extraordinary radiance, serenity, and presence. They asked:

“Are you a god?”

“No.”

“Are you a deva, a celestial being?”

“No.”

“Are you a spirit?”

“No.”

“Are you, then, a man who has attained something through determined seeking and practices?”

“No.”

“Then what are you?”

The character replied simply:

“I am awake.”

And so are you. Awakeness is our natural state. In Being’s paradoxical play, It hides its own Oneness-Singularity and Wholeness from Itself, then plays a game called ‘seeking enlightenment’ to find what It already Is and Has.
