In 1967, age 15, I received a brain injury from a car accident. TBI not well known at that time. Age 45 went to a Psychiatrist and was told my problems come too much coffee. 😮 A counsellor said I hated my Mother. 😮 A psychologist said, "Let me check your history." He referred me to an intelligent psychiatrist who fully explained the TBI, how it occurred and what could be done. Very little. At age 79 I still have many symptoms and have learned to live with them. Oh yeah, fMRI was suggested at some point but was only used for cancer patients, nothing trivial like TBI. Ah well, life goes on.
