Jesus said:

Love God completely.

This comes from Gospel of Matthew 22:37:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

It means putting God first above everything—your desires, possessions, and priorities.

2️⃣ Second Commandment

Jesus continued:

Love other people as you love yourself.

From Gospel of Matthew 22:39:

“Love your neighbour as yourself.”

This teaches compassion, kindness, fairness, and care for others.

Jesus’ Summary

In Gospel of Matthew 22:40, Jesus explained that:

“All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Meaning the entire moral teaching of the Old Testament is built on these two principles: love God and love people.
