Alright — I’ll make it as direct and minimal as Advaita itself.
Advaita: Is-ness
Is-ness (sat) is:
- not contemplation
- not meditation
- not an experience
- not something you do
It is that which is always already present.
What contemplation does
Contemplation (inquiry) only:
- removes attention from objects
- removes identification with mind
- removes ignorance
When nothing is being done to reach Being, Being remains.
The essential point
You do not contemplate is-ness.
You stop overlooking it.
Ramana’s final pointer
“You are not to attain the Self.
You are the Self.”
Silence is not a practice here —
it is what is left when seeking ends.
If you want to go one step subtler (very few teachings do), I can explain:
- why even “abiding as Being” is still a concession
- or how Advaita answers the Buddhist charge of reifying Being
Just say which.
