Why aren’t we aware of our “non-duality” character as we are born, if we just are consciousness?
“We” are aware. Consciousness is aware of Its non-dual state, even as ”we” are born. Then It appears to play hide-&-seek with Itself. For no reason. No purpose.
And yes, Consciousness, playing the illusory “you” character, could appear to attempt to supersede living an “ordinary” life by taking the ‘supposedly-spiritual’ approach of simply observing and being here. But that will not impart any ‘purpose’ for living, nor will it remedy the illusory “you’s” dilemma…because there is no “you.”
If “you” want to try to just ‘observe and be here,’ the message is not to observe why “you” are here, what is the ‘purpose,’ or how “your” observation can somehow push this illusory “you” into non-duality (it can’t,) but rather, observe and just be here with how “you” feel when “you’ realize the futility of trying to escape the dilemma of this apparent limited, separate consciousness or enter into non-duality.
Just sit and feel that futility. Feel that “you” can’t find any meaning or purpose to Consciousness apparently contracting into these illusory ‘separate’ characters. And feel how that makes the “you” feel. Simply be with and observe how it feels that there’s no way out of the dream.
Then see if you can get the fragrance of who or what is aware of that.
What is behind those feelings, observing? Does It also have those thoughts and feelings? Or is it just a neutral observer? Is It also yearning for things to change, for permanent peace & joy, or is It already permanent peace & joy? Does It also feel a need to escape, or find a purpose to Being? Or is It already simply Being?
That Awareness or Consciousness doesn’t have any of these questions, seeking or yearning. It simply Is.
And, for no reason, That Awareness or Consciousness appears as ‘separate entities’ who appear to be seeking and yearning. Isn’t That amazing!
