In India, we call all natural elements sacred,
but do we respect them even a little?
Let's understand:
1️⃣ Earth (Extinction of Wild Species)
π At the time of independence, India had 4 regions where the densest forests and the highest population of animals and birds were found. Today, we have lost 90% of those areas!
π Currently, 1 million species in India are on the brink of extinction.
π India has 18% of the world's population but only 2% of its forests. And the remaining forests are being sold to industrialists for development at cheap prices every year.
π India suffers an economic loss of approximately ₹1 lakh crore every year due to biodiversity loss.
2️⃣ Fire (Impact of Fire on Remaining Forests)
π³ Approximately 65% of India's forests are affected by forest fires. Such incidents have increased 7 times in Himachal and 3 times in Uttarakhand.
π³ Forest fires raise the temperature of surrounding areas by 5 to 10 degrees.
π³ India incurs an annual loss of approximately ₹250 billion due to forest fires.
3️⃣ Water (Threat of Drought and Impact of Polluted Water)
π 2 billion people worldwide depend on the Himalayan glaciers, which are melting rapidly. Due to extreme heat, 75-80% of the glaciers might melt in the next decade. The water sources of rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra, and Sindhu are drying up!
π And the water that is available is polluted! 50% of the world's waterborne diseases occur in India alone.
π These diseases cause an economic loss of approximately ₹49,000 crore to India every year.
4️⃣ Air (Air Pollution as the Biggest Cause of Death)
π¬️ 83 out of the world's 100 most polluted cities are in India. According to WHO standards, the level of PM2.5 pollutants should be less than 5 Β΅g/m³. Delhi's average PM2.5 level is 188 Β΅g/m³!
π¬️ The result of breathing in such air? In 22 states of the country, air pollution and respiratory diseases are the leading causes of death. Heart disease now comes second!
π¬️ Air pollution causes an annual loss of ₹3 lakh crore to India.
π¬️ Due to air pollution, the average life expectancy of Indians is reduced by 5 years. If you live in North India, your lifespan is reduced by up to 11 years!
5️⃣ **Sky (Fire Falling from the Sky)**
π₯ 2023 was the hottest year in the last 100,000 years. 100,000 years!
π₯ For the first time in history, the Earth's average temperature has remained above 1.5 degrees for 12 consecutive months. The Earth is burning!
π₯ In just 2024, the Earth's average temperature has been more than 1.7 degrees, even exceeding the 1.5-degree limit!
You might be wondering what difference 1.5 degrees makes?
π¨ Such a change in the Earth's average temperature caused:
3200 deaths in India in 2023, over 400,000 homes were destroyed, 70,000 livestock died, and more than 2 million hectares of crops were ruined.

Now, by planting a sapling on Environment Day, you cannot shirk your responsibility. The situation has gone beyond control, and things have reached a critical point!
99% of people are unaware of most of the facts mentioned above! Just when you were busy fulfilling your personal interests, you were inviting a catastrophe on Earth, and you didn’t even know it!
When you were suffering from the heat, the media was entertaining you with IPL and elections, and you were lost in the intoxication of entertainment!

If your country elects a
bozo whom you can’t stand, you will feel a
disconnect with your nation and
government and even other citizens. You
will also feel as though you are
owed something in return for putting up
with terrible policies.
Equalization is present in every experience
because the drive to equalize
is emotion itself. Sadness is a feeling of
powerlessness to make up for a
perceived loss.
