KARMA CHAKRA
At the present moment we are completely entangled in karma chakra, the cycle of birth and death. Whether we act piously or impiously we continue tightening more and more the hard knot of material entanglement becoming ever more deeply entangled in material nature's complexities. Some persons try to become liberated from this hard knot by becoming inactive, but even within their so-called inactivity for their mere survival they are forced by the laws of nature to still remain karmically active. For example, they have to breath, and with every breath they are killing so many millions and billions of microbial germs. This breathing binds them every more deeply in karma. Since we are active by nature and a state of total inactivity is impossible for us, if we want true liberation from the miseries of material existence, we have to learn to act in such a way as to not create any karma. That way is the way of devotional service. To execute devotional service we must first understand the reality that our real self is the spirit-soul who resides within the material body. It is not that we are our bodies. And then we have to know that we are the eternal servants of the Superself, the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Sri Krishna. Then armed with this knowledge and guided by a bona fide spiritual master we can attain the liberated position of pure love of God and become fully qualified to enter into the eternal spiritual sky at the time of passing out of our present bodies.

This means to give up all other duties and accept one duty only, to surrender to Lord Sri Krishna. When one does this purely all other duties and responsibilities are automatically covered within the execution of full surrender to Krishna. It is just like when you water the root of the tree all the leaves and branches are automatically watered. Krishna is the root cause of all existence. So when you give your loving service to Him you automatically render the best loving service to all the living beings throughout all of existence.
