What the research suggests is that death is not the end of genes working, but more that they stop working as a unit for up to three days until the life slowly leaves them.
However, why the genes carry on for a few days remains a complete mystery.
Some of the genes which carried on working related to cancers, which suggests they thrived in the absence of other genes which attempt to prevent cancers in the body.
Another included genes which related to spinal column-building cells – even though we already have a spinal column.
