Be wary of cynicism
Consider a 2013 study published in the journal Biological Psychiatry. It revealed that British civil servants who ranked high on the scale for cynical hostility, defined as an inclination toward anger and a distrustful mentality, had shorter telomeres on average than those who ranked low on the scale.
So if you want to stay healthy, try to adopt a more positive outlook on life. Your telomeres – and probably your life – will be longer as a result.
