PRIMARY TEACHER VK

At least a GCSE grade B/5 (or above) or equivalent in English and maths. Early years and primary teachers also need grade C/4 (or above) in a science subject. An undergraduate degree awarded by a UK higher education institution or equivalent.

How to Become a Science Teacher
  1. Earn a bachelor's degree in the subject(s) you wish to teach and complete teacher preparation as part of your degree program.
  2. Complete a student teaching internship in a science classroom at the grade level(s) you wish to teach.

  4. Apply for your teaching license.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE/PGCertEd) is a one- or two-year higher education course in England, Wales and Northern Ireland which provides training in order to allow graduates to become teachers within maintained schools.
