someone comes at you with an upsetting remark and you feel prompted to react in a forceful way, step back, shut up and smile. Take a moment to process what has just occurred. The less you say the less trouble you’ll find yourself in. When you step back and zip your lips, you’ll often find you can avoid an argument.

////////////////////
Ask yourself three questions when you feel upset and want to express your views to the person you are upset with. 1) Is what I have to say true? 2) Is what I have to say kind? 3) Is what I have to say necessary? This method of looking at what you would like to say can help you determine if you should let something go completely or say something to the person."
