There is the Law of Unintended Consequences, defined as "a perverse effect contrary to what was originally intended." We are seeing a bit of that with the ban on trans-fats, which are now replaced mostly with palm oil. For years we have been writing about dying for a cookie, how the palm oil industry is killing the orangutan, polluting the air and how it is not really much healthier. It's hiding under other names, too. There is a rainforest in your shopping and the ban is going to make it worse if you are not careful about buying factory foods.
