Is my body me? (We can ask this question the other way around too – “Am I my body?” Whichever works better for you.) No, my body is my body, not me. I’m not a pile of inanimate flesh and bones; there is a lot more to me than that! I have lots of interesting ideas, for a start. I have a body but I am not a body. My sense of me doesn’t even feel like flesh and bones. I cannot find my me anywhere in this body. Also, try saying “My body” – and see how that has a different connotation or feel than saying “Me”.
