Over 80 percent of people experiencing depression say exercise improves their mood and anxiety most of the time.

Yet only around one-third actually reach the recommended exercise levels of at least 150 minutes per week.

When the mind appears, reality disappears. When the mind disappears, reality appears.

Bodhidharma, “Bodhidharma’s Teachings”

A

To establish the purpose of consciousness, we would first need to understand what consciousness is.

This very question has mystified philosophers, physicists and spiritual seekers since time immemorial.

As it stands, there is no universally agreed-upon definition of consciousness. It remains a mystery that can only be pointed at.

My answer, therefore, acts as a pointer, based on my personal experience of awakening from the “dream”…

Consciousness serves no purpose other than the one we create out of it.

On that basis, one could argue that the purpose of consciousness is to be our playing field.

An interactive interrelated multidimensional playing field is about as close as I can get to describing what consciousness is.

Another way I could describe it would be, art.

In my endeavour to define consciousness in words, I spent several days looking at it in a somewhat comical attempt to pin it down.

Funny thing happened…

Every time I looked at consciousness, it looked right back at me.

In our face-off, consciousness mutated, transformed and reconstructed itself around my “seeing” of it.

In the dawning realisation that I was no longer looking at consciousness but a reflection of myself, consciousness gave me a cheeky wink and (seemingly) vanished from view!

And therein lies the truth of consciousness 😉

Perhaps therefore the purpose of consciousness is quite simply, play.

Consciousness appears to us to have properties that it does not really have. Consciousness appears to be a seamless, high-fidelity, complete, and accurate direct experience of the world. And yet countless psychology experiments and visual illusions demonstrate that consciousness does not actually have these properties. Consciousness is fragmented, internally inconsistent, lower resolution, and more distorted than we think.

Yohan John makes a great point in asking the question "to what is consciousness an illusion"? The answer to that question is "to itself", a circular answer that highlights one of the core paradoxes of consciousness. Awareness, or self-awareness, presents the feeling that we are simultaneously and synchronously both the subject and object of our perception; and yet both roles cannot be logically simultaneous due simply to the time-lag required to process information and form a point of view. Who we perceive ourselves to be is who we were a few hundred milliseconds ago. But hopefully we haven't changed much.

WHY OF UNIVERSE

However, as the number one unanswerable question, I prefer Steven Hawking’s: “Why does the universe bother to exist?”

My second favorite is “how did something come from nothing?” There have been attempts to answer this one. My view is that nothing can come from nothing. If one assumes the greatest possible void (not in size , but in concept), in which there is no matter or energy, no dimensions, strings, Branes, etc., there still must exist a law that permits the creation of universes, and that is not nothing.

My third favorite is why the physical constants are what they are and must be what they are in order for us to be asking about them. This is known as the Anthropic Principle. The Anthropic Principle raises the question of whether the universe is conscious observer dependent. This idea makes many scientists uncomfortable.

In response to the Anthropic Principle, many scientists proffer various as yet unprovable (and unfalsifiable) multi-verse ideas. That’s OK because the only evidence for the Anthropic principle is the existence of observers who measure and/or calculate the constants; whereas the idea of multiple universes turns universe creation into an ongoing natural phenomenon, one in which observers could evolve in a particular kind of universe, rather than a one time, perhaps discomfort creating supernatural phenomenon. That is, if creation is natural (as it must be), why would only one universe exist? Hence the need for the multi-verse.

There seems to be a preponderance of observable evidence that the universe had a beginning and has been evolving. Yet so far, universe creation is outside known science and resides in the realm of vigorous speculation.

Half-an-hour of brisk walking in the morning can lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and keep you healthy, research finds.

Morning exercise at a moderate-intensity level such as 30 minutes brisk walking or walking on the treadmill can lower blood pressure for eight hours of the day.

By adding frequent breaks from sitting during the day, you will increase the effect of morning exercise on lowering blood pressure, the study found.

Human-caused greenhouse gas emissions have been driving global temperatures skyward since the 19th century, when the industrial revolution and the mass burning of fossil fuels began to affect the Earth’s climate. The world has already warmed by about 1.3 degrees Celsius, or 2.3 degrees Fahrenheit, and most of that warming has occurred since the 1970s. In the last 50 years, research suggests, global temperatures have risen at their fastest rate in at least 2,000 years.

The great chain of being was the medieval metaphor for ecology before we spoke of ecosystems. I view it as a philosophical and theological attempt to speak of the interconnectedness of all things on the level of pure “Being.” Today we might call it “the circle of life.” For me, it speaks of the inherent sacrality, interconnectedness , and communality of creation.

Teja is a wonderful teacher that you all know very well, true and direct, no bullshit, like we need ! :) Nisigardatta vibe anyone ? Yes :)

He helped me in a specific phase of my life that was needed, when I was struggling to get out of the spiritual non-sense and a difficult heartbreak (c’est la vie!)

The teaching he gives is direct, uncompromising and non-dual.

There is only what is happening and no personal person can actually “awaken”.

In my case, it has “helped” “me” to relax the seeking mode and live my life more naturally. The funny thing is that my clearest awakenings came when I didn’t look for them at all. I used to be much more spiritual when I was younger, but I also was much more involved in the spiritual dream. My clearest “seeings” took place at work when I was on the phone with some clients, completely out of the blue, totally uncaused by any effort or practise. I didn’t think this could be the case, I really thought awakening had to be a striving, but it turned out it wasn’t the case.

The one thing I liked the most about Teja is that he was clear in dispelling the illusion of the one trying to awaken, the spiritual seeker is actually one of the biggest blockage to “true” abiding awakening. We have many teachers out there but unfortunately, many keep the illusion of the “disciple” and “guru” kind of non-sense and the abuse that usually comes with that in so many ways. That is not the case here at all, and that is one thing I enjoyed.

In my case, when I stopped seeking, when I started to relax, it simply “happened on its own”. The person that was looking for awakening, the person that was trying to get there was the one blocking.

In other words, “I am the observed”, including the seeker (Maxime).

When “I” saw that, my life (even my personal) life changed. I was able to let go of control, go with the flow so much more, trust the moment and myself instead of my head.

So I really hope both my experience and his teaching will be helpful to some of you.

It can be quite life transformative, and it has been for me.

Truth has an impact, it also has an impact on our personal human life. It doesn’t mean life becomes smooth and easy, it doesn’t mean it becomes all simple. No. That would be a fallacy. But usually, what I noticed in my own experience is that life supports us. Life supports our awakening.

Life is. Life doesn’t need to awaken, of course. Life has no purpose. It is pure “leela”, just a play of love and energy, for nobody.

But for our dear human incarnation (that will end very soon), being together as one and including the truth into our hearts everyday in every since interaction that we have (business, family, anything !) is life changing.

Truth is radical. It challenges us and pushes us to be the clearest version of what we can be.

Not the “best” in the human sense, not the “greatest” in the ego sense, just truthful and pure of heart.

Just listen to the video where I share my experience about the teaching.

And thank you my friend, for this opportunity to spend time with you.

As I said in the beginning of the interview, I didn’t use to like your teachings when I was younger ! Lol. It was too direct.

But it came at the right time in my life and I made great “use” of it

Historically, however, Christianity and Islam both were influenced by a wide range of ideas and cultural practices, rebirth among them, and there certainly have been, and continue to be, a minority of Christians and Muslims who posit an eschatology based upon it. In the case of Christianity, rebirth seems to have been accepted by certain early Gnostic sects, as well as by medieval “heretical” groups influenced by Gnosticism, such as the Cathars, Albigensians, and Bogomils, and by Renaissance movements inspired both by Gnosticism (or some other esoteric movement) and by the recent rediscovery of Platonism and other forms of Greek thought.

Karma is not a Sky-guy who seeks out sinners to punish and victims to compensate.

So there is no Captain Karma.

KARMA means the law of causation - cause and effect - which operates on the material and psychic plane.

“Soul Age” is a metaphoric term used in past life regression circles - to symbolize the EXPERIENCE of a soul in human lives. Note, that it only applies to human lives, and generally - only to souls reincarnating on Earth and not on other worlds, planets, or spaceships, as human lives can not be compared with extra-terrestrial lives in different types of bodies, with different life spans (some ETs live for thousands of years) and different vibration/density. So if the soul only reincarnated on Earth it is considered a “baby soul” in the beginning - the first several lives when it is just learning to use a human body and survive on Earth, it is generally taken care of by family or clan and unable to survive by itself. “Child soul” is more self-sufficient practically but still depends on its family or community for beliefs and decision-making, these souls are usually very religious and follow the leaders. “Young Soul” is becoming independent not only practically, but also mentally and emotionally - it can survive on its own, without a community, or can choose a community - for example, leave a religious group it was born into, move to another country, marry a person of another race or religion, etc. “Thinking for yourself” becomes the main motto of the young souls, they can be rebellious, and ambitious, looking to create a better life for themselves, but often disregarding spirituality altogether, becoming atheists or breaking up with close-knit community or family. They have individual goals, usually materialistic - career, money, travel, all kinds of experiences. These souls have the strongest ego and rational mind of all soul ages. “Mature souls” are less materialistic, they start losing interest in ownership of houses, cars, bank accounts, and social success - but they are very attached to their loved ones, but they feel responsible for their relationships, and can choose friends or loved ones to care about, or create their own communities. “Old souls” are non-materialistic, they have psychic abilities and can see beyond the visible reality, they have a philosophic outlook on life, and are less affected by heartbreak, even losing a loved one. They are ready to graduate from the Earth School and have a spiritual role as a Teacher or Healer in human communities.

It is hard to tell how many lives a soul needs to pass each stage - in my sessions, I usually deal only with young, mature, and old souls, baby souls or child souls are not interested in past life regression. especially if they are Christians and afraid to do something outside the church dogma. In my experience, it takes about 20–30 lives to become a young soul, 50–70 lives to become a mature soul, and above 100 lives to become an old soul. The numbers can be much higher if we take into consideration parallel lives, and some souls are quick learners and other souls are slow learners. An old soul can have thousands of human lives if they are an Ascended Master, we call them ‘ancient souls” sometimes, as they reincarnate to help others, they graduated from the Earth School long ago, and they are ‘members of the faculty”, not students.

To get more information on soul ages - Google ‘Soul Age. Michaels Teachings” - there is also a self-evaluation test. If you are a Starseed - you will most likely be an Old Soul on the test, even if you only had 1–2 human lives, as Starseeds are more spiritually advanced than Earthlings.
