It means there is no such thing as “before the Big Bang.” There was not “nothing” before the Big Bang because time started with the Big Bang; the entire concept of “before the Big Bang” doesn’t exist as a concept. You can’t have “before the Big Bang” any more than you can have “north of the North Pole.” The concept is self-contradictory.
You cannot say “there was nothing before the Big Bang” for the same reason you cannot say “Bill’s house is fifty meters north of the North Pole.” The concept of “north of the North Pole” makes no sense. The concept of “before the Big Bang” makes no sense.
