LAKSMI IN ROUDRA ROOP
Usually, the tongue out is part of the “Raudra roop” angry countenance of female deities in the Hindu pantheon of gods. Kali has it, Tara has it, out of the 9 forms of Durga a few also have it, although they haven’t been generally depicted as such. Lakshmi is usually very “saumya” - graceful and elegant, but in the Narada Puran, Lakshmi is also described as Durga and Bhadrakali. From what I understand the same fluid feminine energy is called Lakshmi, Kali and Durga as well. So you see the other forms of Lakshmi which appear as Kali or Tara here. Usually Lakshmi is not depicted with arms too, if you notice.

No. It means there was no “I” that lifted its right hand in the air, and no “I” that could either have a choice or no choice.
Which means there never was an “I.” Just what’s happening.
Which means nothing at all.
Non-doership and non-duality are non-therapeutic and non-applicable to anything in the mind’s story of a “me.”
As a me-mind, go on asking questions about or believing in personal volition, free will and choice. Or go on asking and believing in non-doership. It makes absolutely no difference.
It’s just what is.
(BTW, Patrick, this same “I”-less explanation pertains to your other question of ‘If we are not the doer, how can me meditate and do self-inquiry.’
Meditation happens. Self-inquiry happens. There’s no “I” that’s doing them.:-)

I’ve not had a NDE, however, I am a Spiritualist Church medium. Many messages from deceased people have reassured their loved ones, that, although it may have seemed like they were in pain, they were not in pain.
A lot of times they described dying as suddenly not being there anymore.
One woman, who had died in a bushfire, was particularly insistent that she had not suffered pain; she described the smoke, but said she then ‘just went’.
A man who died in a motorcycle collision with a car, recently described how he knew there was no way he would survive the collision and recounted a feeling of calm acceptance that overcame him, again; no pain.
It seems to be one of the things which the deceased wish to emphasise to their bereaved relatives.
When such messages come through, there are other things described, about things only their loved ones could verify, which is one of the reasons that I am convinced that what I am receiving is true.
I hope that this answer is helpful.

I did have an NDE. I was in a Drs. office and went into Anaphylactic Shock. I had become completely paralyzed, had a seizure and my throat closed completely. It was more fear than pain that I felt prior to losing consciousness. It happens rather quickly and the pain is minimal. My body convulsed twice and I was gone. The revived me in the ER 19 minutes later. I fear what precipitates death but not death itself.

As an adult I attended Lake Pleasant Spiritualist Church in western Massachusetts. It was a wonderfully affirming place for people like me who have had paranormal experiences.
I had a NDE when I was 17 due to injuries from a car accident on the way home from a Grateful Dead Concert. I detachedly watched from the ceiling as the ER doctors worked on me. I saw them surrounded by energetic swirls of color moving in unison as they defibrillated me twice and sewed me up in places. I had tubes inserted in my arms, abdomen and down my throat. I saw with mild dismay as they cut off the bloodied self embroidered finery I had worn to the concert. When I woke up in the ICU and had the breathing tube removed I told the nurse what I had seen and she told me that she and other nurses had heard similar stories from other patients. This experience propelled me from being a kid who had seen ghosts and believed that it was proof of an afterlife to being one who knew it.

Many books on NDE and the afterlife say the pain leaves at a certain point and peace comes over them.
Many see loved ones the day they are leaving. My partner of 47 years said ‘ I love your mother’ hours before. My sister said she “talked to Patrick” the morning she passed.
Plenty fascinating stories on this.
I pray the love of our Creator forever surrounds his soul. God Bless.

In the Puranas we find very detailed treatment of many concepts of Saivism in a language and imagery familiar to the masses. Some of the Puranas deal exclusively with Shiva and Saivism. They are categorized as Shiva Puranas in contrast to the Vishnu Puranas, Devi Puranas and Brahma Puranas. The Shiva Puranas describe Shiva as the highest and Supreme Being and other gods and divinities subordinate to him as a part of his vast creation. Vayu Purana is considered to be one of the oldest of the Shiva Puranas, composed probably around 2nd Century BC. Other important Shiva Puranas are the Matsya Purana, the Brahmanda Purana, Skanda Purana, Linga Purana, Vamana Purana and of course the Shiva Purana. While the Vishnu Puranas depict Brahma as originating from the navel of Vishnu, the Shiva Puranas inform us that Brahma became a creator and Vishnu became a preserver by virtue of their devotion to Shiva and meritorious deeds in their previous lives.
