OCCUPATION OR CALLING ?

A bird gets up every morning and singsits song. It does not wait to hear what other birds are singing, nor does it look tosee if another bird is getting more notice. It knows its song innately and sings. This is nature: knowing your song.~ Michele Oka Doner

WE ALL BECOME STORIES IN THE END

#####################

Indefinitely?

Let me ask you, even if “you” could “get enlightened,” will “you” still be feeling these (supposed) feelings of peace, bliss, love & joy after you’re dead? Nope, ’cause there’ll no longer be a “you” who feels them. And how many more years have “you” got, in this body/mind? 60? 40? Only a few more?

So, let’s drop ‘indefinitely’ from your question, and just get real about why the feelings of peace, bliss, love & joy don’t last very long at all after a profound epiphany or still-evolving awakening/self-realization. Because that’s all you’re talking about or experiencing here. Fully enlightened would never ask this question.

The answer to both your questions is infinitely simple: “You” are still identifying “yourself” as a ‘separate entity.’ This separate identity, the psychological “me,” is exactly the thing that gets revealed as an illusion that never really existed, and drops away, in full enlightenment. And the only thing that would care about indefinite ‘bliss’ or lost emotions.

With that gone, the true You is revealed to be One with the Flow of Life, to actually be Life Itself. You become what you always were, both the ‘witness’ watching the River of Life, and the River Itself.

To answer your 2nd question, do you think being the River of All Life, Life Itself, would be an emotionless and passionless experience? Not likely. Not even possible. As Life Itself, every moment would include every thing! All pain and pleasure, all joys and sorrows, all peace and chaos, and every emotion or passion You can possibly feel. There is no point in pursuing enlightenment, because “you” (the psychological “me” still identified with and asking this question,) cannot ‘attain’ enlightenment or “get enlightened” of it’s own effort/volition. No matter how much “you”pursue it. It’s simply not possible. Because that “you” is a phantom, a mere substanceless shadow, and a shadow can never become the Real thing that is casting it. But if ‘enlightenment’ every dawns in your location (without “your” pursuance or effort, because it’s nothing more than dwelling in your Natural State,) Your experience as All fo Life will not being missing emotion, passion or anything else. Indeed, it will be more full than the little “you” could ever imagine.

And, if that enlightenment ever dawns, You’ll have absolutely no concern over whether any good or bad feelings - bliss, love, sorrow, boredom - are ‘lasting indefinitely.’ Only the illusory psychological “me” would care about that, would covet permanent ‘happiness’ ‘wisdom’ or ‘bliss’ for itself. You, the Reality, are just What Is, always in harmony with What Is. No change or improvement is necessary…and nothing missing!

HUMANITY'S FIRST GLIMPSE OF A BLACK HOLE, REVEALED BY EVENT HORIZON TELESCOPE

"It’s easy to forget that none of us has ever seen one."

Event Horizon Telescope

On Wednesday, a team of astronomers, physicists, and astrophysicists showed the world the first-ever picture of a black hole. The black hole in question, which lies at the center of the galaxy Messier 87, is 55 million light-years away from Earth. This makes the photograph not only the first one ever taken of a black hole but also something of a time machine into this particular black hole’s distant history. The picture appears as the empty core at the center of a bright ring of matter.
