"Since 1500 BCE, babies have been born by cesarean section. Today, mothers who elect to have cesareans can choose their child’s birthday (with certain limits) prior to the baby’s due date. Obviously then, life isn’t put into the baby by the act of it being outside the mother, simply because that act is labeled by medical and social convention as “being born.” Therefore, clearly, we are living human beings before we’re born. But when exactly does it begin?
