WMAP (Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe), can peer
back only to less than 400,000 years after the original explosion. Therefore, our satellites can tell us only that there was
a bang, but cannot tell us why it banged, what banged, and what caused the bang.
That is why LISA is creating such excitement. LISA will measure an entirely new type of radiation: gravity waves
from the instant of the big bang itself.
