In accidental burns, the head, neck, anterior trunk and arms are the most often affected. In cases of abuse, hands, legs, feet and buttocks were more likely to be involved. The anterior aspect of the hand was more likely to be involved in accidental burns and the dorsum of the hand was more likely involved in abuse cases
