ADOL SLEEP

Adolescents almost never get enough sleep. Teenagers are not likely to wake spontaneously on
school days, and they almost always sleep late on weekends (at least one hour later than on
weekdays, often three to five hours later). When adolescents have the opportunity to sleep as much as
they like every night, they average about nine to ten hours per night, and that is probably closer to the
optimal level for their age.
