Revised diagnostic criteria for pseudotumor cerebri syndrome in children
IIH with papilledema
APapilledema
BNormal neurological examination except for cranial nerve abnormalities
CNormal Neuroimaging (cMRI)
DNormal CSF composition
ELumbar puncture opening pressure ≥ 28 cmH O (≥25 cmH O if the child is not sedated and not obese)
A–E fulfilled: definite diagnosis of IIH
A–D fulfilled: probable diagnosis of IIH
IIH without papilledema
B–E fulfilled unilateral or bilateral abducens nerve palsy: definite diagnosis of IIH
B–E fulfilled, no unilateral or bilateral abducens nerve palsy but + ≥ 3 neuroimaging abnormalities suggestive of idiopathic intracranial hypertension : diagnoses of IIH can be suggested
