NO VIOLENCE IN MIND

 A

The line is from Joel S. Goldsmith. The idea appears in his teachings on surrender:

“I lay my sword down… I will no longer fight.
I will let the Infinite within me fight my battles.”

Sometimes paraphrased as:

“I lay down my sword and shield;
I do not battle — I stand still and see the salvation.”

This mirrors:

  • Bhagavad Gita — act, but surrender outcomes

  • Wallace Stevens — truth emerges indirectly

  • Goldsmith — stop mental fighting; allow realization

All three pivot on the same movement:

  • Arjuna: stop resisting duty

  • Stevens: stop forcing truth

  • Goldsmith: stop fighting reality

Common core:
Effort in action — no violence in mind.
