YTC A Consciousness is consciousness alone from its own standpoint, consciousness alone is Ishvara from the standpoint of the jiva. Shankaracharya uses the terms Brahman, Ishvara, Parameshvara, Atman and Paramatman quite interchangeably in the commentarial corpus.
