A list of fourteen unanswered questions is presented in the texts of the Sanskrit tradition. This list contains the same ten questions presented in the Pāli texts, plus four additional questions.[1][4][5][note 2]

The fourteen questions are grouped into four categories.[1]

Questions concerning the existence of the world/universe in time:

Is it true that:
1. The world (loco) is eternal?[note 1]
2. The world is not eternal?
3. The world is both eternal and not eternal?
4. The world is neither eternal nor not eternal?[note 3]

Questions concerning the existence of the world/universe in space:

Is it true that:
5. The world is finite?
6. The world is infinite?
7. The world is both finite and infinite?
8. The world is niether finite or infinite?[note 3]

Questions referring to personal identity:

Is it true that:
9. The soul and the body are the same thing?
10. The soul and the body are different things?

Questions referring to life after death:

Is it true that:
11. A Realized One exists after death?
12. A Realized One doesn’t exist after death?
13. A Realized One both exists and doesn’t exist after death?
14. A Realized One neither exists nor doesn’t exist after death?

The Buddha remained silent when asked these fourteen questions.

From ~~~ Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi, T. 13

Bhagavan.:

The Self is ever there, there is nothing without it.
Be the Self and the desires and doubts will disappear.
Such Self is the witness in sleep, dream
and waking states of existence.
These states belong to the ego.

The Self transcends even the ego.
Did you not exist in sleep?
Did you know then that you were asleep
or unaware of the world?

It is only in the waking state that you describe
the experience of sleep as being unawareness;
therefore the consciousness when asleep
is the same as that when awake.

If you know what this waking consciousness is,
you will know the consciousness
which witnesses all the three states.

Such consciousness could be found
by seeking the consciousness
as it was in sleep.

A book is being read in which a question occurs whether the world was created for happiness or misery. All eyes turn to Sri Bhagavan for the answer.

Sri Ramana Maharshi : Creation is neither good nor bad; it is as it is. It is the human mind which puts all sorts of constructions on it, as it sees things from its own angle and as it suits its own interests. A woman is just a woman, but one mind calls her “mother,” another “sister,” and still another “aunt” and so on. Men love women, hate snakes, and are indifferent to the grass and stones by the roadside. These connections are the causes of all the misery in the world.

Creation is like a peepul tree: birds come to eat its fruit, or take shelter under its branches, men cool themselves in its shade, but some may hang themselves on it. Yet the tree continues to lead its quiet life, unconcerned with, and unaware of, all the uses it is put to. It is the human mind that creates its own difficulties and then cries for help. Is God so partial as to give peace to one person and sorrow to another?

In creation there is room for everything, but man refuses to see the good, the healthy and the beautiful, and goes on whining, like the hungry man who sits beside a tasty dish and, instead of stretching out his hand to satisfy his hunger, he goes on lamenting. Whose fault is it, God’s or man’s? But fortunately for man, God, in His infinite mercy, never forsakes him. He always gives him new chances by providing Gurus and Scriptures to guide him to find the errors of his ways and ultimately gain eternal happiness.

Just disappear. Then go to war against the man in the mirror. And don't come back until you win.

Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.

Life doesn't remain same. Sometimes it can be harsh. How you respond to new situation plays a great role in deciding your future. Don't resist what can't be changed. Allow yourself to embrace what you receive. You are strong enough to overcome anything. Focus on resolving things.

🍃🌸SANNIDHI - The presence of a Jnani [The Enligtened One]🌸🍃

One day when I was sitting by the side of Sri Bhagavan, I felt so miserable that I put the following question to him:

‘Is the sankalpa [will/desire] of the jnani not capable of warding off the destinies of the devotees?

Bhagavan smiled and said: ‘Does the jnani have a sankalpa at all? The jivanmukta can have no sankalpas [will/desires] whatsoever. It is just impossible.’

I continued: ‘Then, what is the fate of all of us who pray to you to have grace on us and save us? Will we not be benefited or saved by sitting in front of you or coming to you? What use is there then for family men like me to gain by coming here to you?’

Bhagavan turned graciously to me and said: ‘Just as a trouble [or arrow] that comes to destroy the head goes away carrying with it only the turban, so a person’s bad karma will be considerably reduced while he is in the presence of a jnani.

A jnani has no sankalpa [will] but his sannidhi [presence] is the most powerful force. He need not have sankalpa [desire] but his presiding presence, the most powerful force, can do wonders, save souls, give peace of mind, even liberation to ripe souls. Your prayers are not answered by him but absorbed by his presence. His presence saves you, wards off the karma and gives you the boons as the case may be, involuntarily. The jnani does save the devotees, but not by sankalpa, which is non-existent in him, only through his presiding presence, sannidhi.’

I find it difficult to feel responsible for the suffering of others. That's why I find war so hard to bear. It's the same with animals: I feel the less harm I do, the lighter my heart. I love a light heart. And when I know I'm causing suffering, I feel the heaviness of it. It's a physical pain. So it's self-interest that I don't want to cause harm. -Alice Walker, author (b. 9 Feb 1944)

One does not awaken to what isn’t - one awakens to what is.

One does not awaken to there being no body and no thing - one awakens to the fundamental nature of all bodies, all things.

When scientists discovered atoms, when they discovered quarks, all the forms, bodies, objects that are built from particles did not vanish. They continued to exist, and their true nature was known.

That consciousness is the only true reality does not mean that there is consciousness, and some other reality that is false. It means that consciousness is the only reality, the only reality that exists. It means that consciousness is the fundamental nature of all reality. Consciousness expresses itself as reality. All forms, all objects, all organisms are consciousness expressing itself and, as such, are just as real as consciousness experienced as itself, formless and boundless, is.

The human organism, the human animal, the human mind - that’s consciousness. Human mind, it’s perceptions, it’s functions, is consciousness as much as anything else.

Human need to grow, to develop, to help, to teach - all of that is consciousness. Human need to get away from pain, to achieve happiness, to divide life into good and bad, right and wrong, and then try and get all the right and good, and make all the bad and wrong go away - that’s all consciousness. That is all reality.

There is nothing else it could be. In reality that is consciousness, there is nothing other than consciousness.

A

Everything in creation including infinite space is thought to consist of three types of substance: normal matter, 'dark matter' and 'dark energy'. Normal matter consists of the atoms that make up stars, planets, human beings and every other visible object in the Universe. Conciousness covers all three & more which science is still finding out about….

a

Duality, like good or bad, is the nature of a mental perception. This is how the human mind, naturally, perceives reality

If you are using shabar mantras for anything, you are taking help from cosmic energies. This way you are in debt to them. Shabar mantras are weak and have a specific time duration and a weak range. Hence the debt is not that big. The energy will take a portion of your accumulated punya. Please understand there is nothing like doing good or bad with the help of cosmic energies. No matter what is your purpose, if you take help, you are bound to pay it back. I hope it answers your question.

a

Certainly yes, during meditation spine should be straight up. Otherwise it will not give positive results.

But, if you sit in dhanya mudra or yog mudra posture on some woolen blanket or shawl or thick cloth in a seperate airy lighted room of your home daily particularly morning evening hours for half an hour or more. In this mudra posture your spine will automatically be in straight position. You have not to do any thing more . Only you have to do meditation.

During meditation you can chant any sacred mantra or japa or recite Gods name in closed eyes looking to some photo of God or Goddess or Shiv Linga some four or five feet away from your eyes or looking to the centre of forehead in closed eyes.

Jai Guru Dev.

The word Bhole as usual signifies innocence.

Bhandari refers to “the reservoir “

Thus One who is the “accumulation of Innocence”..

Similar words include

Asutosh,

BholaNanda,

Bhole Baba….etc.

It signifies the Highest Atman is without pretense and is appeased in Himself as “ShiVam”.

The One who is tricked easily even knowing of it …but no one likes to deceive Him, just like the innocent child. … who is adorable in every way…

a

It states that Our Divine Nature is innocence…. And we do not like to get entrapped in illusion or “ Maya”.

His worship does not entail a host of rituals …..

Can spiritual awakening be confused with mental illness and vice versa?

I know many, and I too might have been at both sides of the spectrum. Pity those souls who perceived and judged me. I was happily oblivious though.

I was roaming unkempt, without eating for long time, staring vacantly, either completely silent or arguing endlessly, eye balls always little upwards giving the perception of a drug addict, and so on.

It is easy to confuse spiritual awakening with mental illness as it uproots ages of conditioning. Obviously not so pleasant to the many layers of consciousness.

This makes it imperative to be in the company of a Guru, or at least to read his/her literature when there is none physically with you.

‘Fake it till you make it’ works here very well.

Assume a great master such as Ramana Maharishi or Ramakrishna Paramahamsa as your Guru.

Bring them in your heart and tell, ‘I know nothing, and cannot wait anymore for you to come to me. I accept you as my Guru, and from now on, I am your headache’.

Use the breath to calm the mind. Before or during tense situations, keep your posture erect and take a few deep, slow breaths. It will both center your mind and give you space to act rather than react.

RM
To infer one’s existence no other evidence is necessary. The 'indriyas' (senses) and the mind arising from the ego cannot serve as evidence relating to the Self. The Self is their basis. They do not exist independently of the Self. One’s own existence is self-evident. Bliss is the Self. All become dear only owing to the love of Self.
