DWM BREAKFAST X REDUCES MORTY
TAKE-HOME MESSAGE
- This prospective cohort study used data from 6550 participants in NHANES III and death records to examine associations between frequency of eating breakfast and mortality. Based on 17 to 23 years of follow-up, an adjusted analysis found that there was significantly higher cardiovascular mortality and all-cause mortality risk for participants who reported never eating breakfast versus participants who reported having breakfast daily (HR, 1.87 and 1.19, respectively).
- This study suggests that participants who consume breakfast have a lower risk of death.
