PROTESTANT X CAPITALISM

“The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism,” Max
Weber described how the “Protestant ethic” formed the culture of capitalism.
His analysis extended from the beginnings of modern capitalism in the seventeenth
century to the industrial economy of his own time in the early twentieth
century. Three elements constitute the core of Weber’s concept of the
culture of capitalism in this period. First, the Protestant ethic and the spirit of
capitalism include the notion of work as a duty
